Using Free Range

You may use Free Range to find independently-owned businesses, create a personal or business profile, post and respond to jobs, and connect with others. You're responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your login secure. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.

Independence & accuracy

Free Range exists to list businesses that are independently owned — not owned by private equity, a publicly-traded parent, a large corporation, or operated as a franchise. When you list or claim a business, you confirm the ownership information you provide is accurate and that the business meets our independence criteria. We may review, request documentation for, decline, or remove any listing. Knowingly submitting false ownership information is grounds for removal.

Your content

You keep ownership of the content you create. By posting it, you grant Free Range a license to display and distribute it on the platform as needed to operate the service. Don't post anything unlawful, misleading, infringing, harassing, or that isn't yours to share.

Acceptable use

• Don't scrape, copy, or harvest the directory in bulk.
• Don't impersonate a person or business.
• Don't abuse messaging or reviews to spam or harass.
• Don't attempt to disrupt or break the security of the site.

Information on the site

Ownership and independence information is compiled from public sources and user submissions and can change over time. We present it as a strong signal, not a guarantee, and Free Range is provided "as is" without warranties. To the extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for indirect or incidental damages arising from your use of the site.

Ending use

You can stop using Free Range and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or remove accounts or content that violate these terms.
