What we collect

• Account information — the email address and password (stored only as a secure hash) you provide when you sign up, plus anything you choose to add to your profile.
• Content you create — business listings, profiles, job posts, messages, reviews, and posts you publish on the platform.
• Business information — for listings, public details such as name, address, category, website, and ownership information used to verify independence.
• Basic technical data — standard server logs (IP address, browser type) needed to run and secure the site.

How we use it

• To operate the directory, profiles, job board, and messaging.
• To verify that listed businesses are independently owned — the core promise of Free Range.
• To send you transactional email you'd expect: account verification, messages, and job-interest notifications.
• To keep the platform safe and prevent abuse.

What we don't do

We don't sell your personal information. We don't run advertising networks or behavioral ad tracking. We don't use an algorithmic feed or vanity metrics designed to keep you scrolling.

Sharing

Information you publish (a business listing, public profile, job post, or review) is visible to others by design. Beyond that, we share data only with the service providers that help us run Free Range — for example our hosting, database, and email-delivery providers — and only as needed to operate the site. We may disclose information if required by law.

Your choices

You can edit or delete most content you create directly from your account. To delete your account or request a copy of your data, email us at hello@freerange.directory. You can opt out of non-essential email at any time.
